MAMA TIERRA X COSALINDA

When Design Connects Cultures: Cosalinda x Mama Tierra
At Cosalinda, we believe fashion is more than aesthetics — it is a way to tell tories, preserve traditions, and create real, lasting impact. Every piece we design carries meaning, has a clear origin, and represents a conscious choice. For this reason, we chose to collaborate with Mama Tierra, an organization whose values and mission align perfectly with ours. Their dedication to empowering Indigenous women, upholding high ethical standards, and preserving ancestral knowledge makes them the ideal partner for this project.
Who is Mama Tierra?
Mama Tierra is a Swiss non-profit that has been working for over a decade with Indigenous communities in La Guajira, Colombia, and in Venezuela — particularly with Wayuu women, known for one of the most iconic artisanal traditions in Latin America. Through their work, Mama Tierra provides fair income opportunities, protects cultural heritage, and supports families affected by poverty, displacement, or lack of resources.
Crafting the Collection
Our collaboration gave life to two complementary stories, each reflecting a dialogue between tradition and contemporary design:
1.Crochet Bags
Handmade with polyacrylic yarn using ancestral Wayuu crochet techniques. These designs embody the women’s mastery of their craft. One of the models includes wooden handles handcrafted by an artisan from our Cosalinda network, creating a unique material fusion.

2.Tapestry Clutch
An exclusive clutch designed by Cosalinda and woven by Wayuu artisans using organic cotton yarn. Its two-sided design allows wearers to showcase different motifs — two stories in one accessory.

Every color, every thread, and every motif has a meaning. Together, they represent a living heritage brought into today’s world.
Empowering Artisans
Behind each piece is the story of a Wayuu woman — a guardian of ancestral techniques passed down for generations. Through this collaboration, artisans receive fair compensation and dignified working conditions, ensuring their knowledge continues to thrive and is valued globally.

More Than Accessories
By choosing Cosalinda, you are not only acquiring a beautiful accessory — you are joining a movement that believes in fair trade, sustainability, cultural diversity, and social impact. A percentage of sales from this collection directly supports Mama Tierra’s educational and social programs, creating a virtuous cycle where design becomes a vehicle for change.
